The Final Draft International Standards (FDIS) for the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and ISO 14001:2015 environment management system were released on 9 July, 2015 and 2 July, 2015 respectively, paving the way for the release of the 2015 new standards in quality and environment management. According to the work plan and schedule of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the standards for ISO 14001 Environment Management and ISO 9001 Quality Management will be officially released on 15 September, 2015 and 22 September, 2015 respectively.
To respond to the changes coming with the new standards, World Center for Certification & Quality takes the initiative to build a global public web platform (WWW.REVISION2015.COM) to help organizations worldwide to better understand the changes in these standards, identify the areas in which improvements are needed, and find out solutions. Enterprises can access the platform by directly logging into WWW.REVISION2015.COM. The platform is available in 9 languages (English, French, Chinese, German, Italian, Russian and Japanese) and open to all people who are interested in the standards for free. World Center for Certification & Quality is ready to provide more supports and assistance for enterprises to help them adapt to the changes brought by the new standards. On the other hand, World Center for Certification & Quality headquarter and its China Technical Center are working on the development of training programs and project improvement services in response to the renewal of standards, with a view to provide detailed explanation and professional advices for enterprises.
Since the release of the first version of the ISO 9001 standards in 1987, the ISO Technical Committee has performed evaluations on the current standards every five years to determine if any revisions are necessary. This can ensure that the standards keep up with the latest trends and are relevant to the needs of enterprises for development. The 2015 new standards are significantly different from the previous versions in the system framework and management perspective to fit in with the medium and long-term sustainable development of enterprises within ten years.
Over 28 years, millions of enterprises around the world have used ISO standards for their process management and risk control. ISO terminology has become an international language common to the quality, environment, health and safety management. The draft of the ISO 45001 standard has also been approved, which means that in the near future there will be a unified and all-embracing system that brings quality assurance, environmental protection, health and safety, social responsibility, energy-saving and emission reduction, water footprint, and customer demands together to make the management in these areas more efficient.
